The Yucaipa-Calimesa School District Board has decided to bring on a new Junior Student Board member. Alex Carrazco, a Junior at Yucaipa High school was chosen for this position after an intense interview process. Alex is involved in many curriculars such as Student Council, President of the Latino Cultural Club, and a tutor. When speaking with Kim Pham which has served as the student board member for the 2025-2026 school year she mentioned how she is “excited to have someone who can help with my projects along with having an individual to mentor”. Alex responsibilities include student voice work where he goes to schools in the district to get student input. His most recent event was going to Parkview middle school to receive input from students' perspectives about their school. In an interview Alex mentioned how “students believed school culture was low and I want to expose them to the many opportunities our school and district offer to help fix this concern.” Alex will continue to serve as a student board member until the end of the 2026 school year.
