What is Linked Learning?

Linked Learning is an innovative approach to education in California that helps students graduate prepared to meet the challenges of today’s economy. Linked Learning brings together a full set of rigorous academic courses integrated with career-based classroom learning and real-world workplace experiences that are aligned to our state’s priority industries. Everything taught within the academy is geared toward connecting learning with interests and aspirations, making education relevant to students, and answering the question, “Why do I need to learn this?”

Students enrolled in a Linked Learning Academy at Yucaipa High School will take a full set of rigorous academic courses integrated with career-based classroom learning, real-world workplace experiences, and personalized mentoring. Students enrolled in an academy will gain real-world experience through interactions with experts in professional settings, as we partnering with the community members to gain insights into their industry. All these components are tied to real-world professions in our state’s priority industries like engineering, health care, and law.
